The administrator of Chicecream Food (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has issued an official notice confirming that all 508 intellectual property assets under the company's name have been legally transferred to the winning bidder. This marks a significant milestone in the ongoing bankruptcy and liquidation process, with the buyer now holding full legal rights to use these assets. The disclosure was made on the national enterprise bankruptcy and reorganization information platform on the evening of September 14.
The bankruptcy proceedings commenced when the Shanghai No. 3 Intermediate People's Court accepted the liquidation application for Chicecream Food on August 22, 2025, subsequently appointing an administrator on August 28. Following the creditors' meeting approval of the asset disposal plan, the administrator packaged all 508 intangible assets—comprising 492 registered trademarks, 8 licensed patents, and 8 copyrights—and listed them for public auction on JD.com's judicial auction platform.
According to the announcement, the asset package was successfully auctioned on May 7, 2026, with the court issuing a civil ruling on June 4, 2026, that formally confirmed the transfer of ownership and all associated rights to the buyer. The administrator clarified that any social media accounts previously registered by Chicecream using these intellectual property assets will proceed through orderly deregistration procedures, with careful handling of personal information stored in the backend of these accounts.
Going forward, the buyer bears full responsibility for any actions taken using the acquired intellectual property, including opening new accounts on various platforms or utilizing the assets in any commercial capacity. The administrator emphasized that Chicecream and its management bear no liability for the buyer's post-acquisition activities. According to the JD.com auction listing, the appraised value and starting price were both set at 2.07 million yuan, with public reports indicating the assets ultimately sold for 21.1 million yuan after multiple rounds of competitive bidding to a natural person buyer.
Chicecream has recently regained public attention following comments from Luo Yonghao, who shared his tasting experience on social media, stating he found a competing ice cream brand mediocre given its price point. He expressed nostalgia for Chicecream while questioning how the rival product gained popularity. Luo also preemptively addressed potential criticism, clarifying that his remarks represent a consumer's honest evaluation and urging others not to misconstrue his intentions.
