Barclays PLC is reviving its booking center operations in Singapore and has reportedly recruited Morgan Stanley's wealth management head in the city-state, Wee Yee Yeong, according to people familiar with the matter.

The seasoned private banking executive is expected to join the British lender in December as head of wealth management for Singapore and Asia, said the sources, who asked not to be identified. Wee will fill the position vacated by Evonne Tan, who departed in April to assume the role of chief executive officer for wealth management in Asia at Schroders Plc.

Representatives for Wee and Barclays declined to comment, while a spokesperson for Morgan Stanley confirmed the executive's impending exit. Based on Wee's LinkedIn profile, he joined Morgan Stanley in 2019 from Bank of Singapore, following prior stints at Credit Suisse and UBS.
