Recent progress has been reported on several major projects in the coal chemical and petrochemical sectors, with key milestones achieved in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hubei, Liaoning, and Shaanxi.

Xinjiang Shanneng has reached a significant design milestone. The 60% model review meeting for the power station of the 800,000 tons/year coal-to-olefins project, owned by Xinjiang Shanneng Chemical Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Wucaiwan. The total investment for this project is 33.8 billion yuan.

Huasheng Energy is advancing its coal-to-gas initiative. Inner Mongolia Huasheng New Energy Co., Ltd. has recently completed two bidding processes for the first phase of its 2 billion cubic meters/year coal-to-natural gas project, which is part of a larger 4 billion cubic meters/year plan. The supervision contracts for the chemical area were divided into four sections; Hebei Sanyuan Construction Supervision Co., Ltd. won sections one and three, while Jiangsu Xidifenghua Project Management Group Co., Ltd. secured sections two and four.

Hubei Xiangyun is seeing rapid construction progress. The second phase of the phosphorus-based new materials project by Hubei New Xiangyun New Materials Co., Ltd., which includes a 400,000 tons/year wet-process phosphoric acid unit, recently celebrated the topping-out of both the 35KV substation and the phosphoric acid concentration unit. This follows the earlier capping of the reaction tank, signaling that the project is now entering the crucial installation phase.

Fushun Petrochemical has achieved a major operational success. At 12:58 on September 14, the newly constructed No. 9 cracking furnace successfully processed its first oil feed as part of the ethylene plant's bottleneck removal and energy efficiency improvement project. This marks a decisive step for the key project in Liaoning's comprehensive revitalization plan, which has a total investment of 2.58 billion yuan. The milestone allows the company to increase its ethylene production capacity to 950,000 tons/year, a critical leap in its transformation and upgrade towards building a world-class century-old refining and chemical enterprise.

Yanchang Petroleum has made headway in Shaanxi. The 90% 3D model review meeting for the 300,000 tons/year vinyl acetate unit, a downstream product of the ethanol and acetic acid project by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Yulin Coal Chemical Company, was recently convened at Sinopec Shanghai Engineering Company.
