The Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have jointly issued the "Digital Countryside High-Quality Development Action Plan (2026-2030)".

According to the plan, efforts will be made to improve rural network infrastructure. This includes deepening universal telecommunications services and advancing the "Broadband Frontier" initiative, along with the on-demand deployment of 5G and gigabit optical networks in rural areas.

The three departments will explore the use of high-throughput satellites and low-orbit satellite internet to provide diversified network access services for rural and remote regions. Furthermore, the plan calls for the implementation of a smart broadcasting rural project, accelerating the construction of new broadcasting networks and enriching the supply of basic broadcasting services and comprehensive information services for rural communities.
