International crude markets experienced a broad decline on September 16, with Shanghai's SC crude futures posting modest losses, followed by another day of downward movement on September 17 where Shanghai crude saw a sharp drop. These two consecutive sessions of falling oil prices are now exerting downward pressure on the anticipated increase in domestic fuel prices.

Current average fuel prices across the country stand at 8.28 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline, 8.84 yuan per liter for 95-octane gasoline, and 7.94 yuan per liter for 0-diesel. These levels remain approximately 0.6 yuan per liter below the year's peak witnessed earlier. Should the impending adjustment materialize as expected, 95-octane gasoline nationwide could enter the 9-yuan per liter territory, approaching the highest levels recorded on April 8 this year.
