Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco, HKEX: 02600) reported that its controlling shareholder, Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), together with concert parties, has invested approximately RMB1.04 billion in additional Chalco shares since 20 July 2026, hitting the lower end of its previously announced share-purchase target of RMB1.00–2.00 billion.

As of 11 September 2026, Chinalco and allied entities have acquired 124.96 million shares—62.65 million A-shares via the Shanghai Stock Exchange and 62.31 million H-shares via the Hong Kong Stock Exchange—representing 0.73 % of Chalco’s total issued share capital. The buying was executed through centralized bidding mechanisms on both bourses.

Following these transactions, Chinalco and its concert parties collectively hold 5.88 billion Chalco shares, equal to 34.28 % of the company’s outstanding share base. Prior to the current plan, their stake stood at 30.52 %. The share-purchase mandate allows for cumulative acquisitions of up to 2 % of Chalco’s total share capital and remains in effect until 19 July 2027. Funding for the purchases is sourced from internal resources or dedicated bank facilities.

Management flagged typical execution risks, noting that adverse market conditions could affect the pace or completion of the planned buy-in. The company confirmed that the transactions comply with all relevant securities regulations and will not alter Chalco’s control structure. Ongoing disclosure will follow stock-exchange requirements in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
