U.S. Stocks Open Lower On Tuesday; Healthcare Software Firm Waystar Said to Explore Options Including Sale, Shares Up 7%

Stock futures were relatively unchanged on Tuesday, buoyed by gains in chipmakers, as traders looked ahead to this week’s Federal Reserve’s policy decision — which could send ripples through the economy — and as Treasury yields surged to multiyear highs.

S&P 500 futures traded around the flatline, as did Nasdaq-100 futures. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 64 points, or 0.1%.

Software provider Waystar opens new tab, whose products are used by hospitals and doctors to manage payments, is exploring options including a potential sale that could return it to private hands two years after a stock market listing ​in New York, seven sources familiar with the matter said.

The Lehi, Utah, and Louisville, Kentucky-based ​company has hired investment bank Evercore (EVR.N), opens new tab to advise on the process, which is ⁠currently at an early stage, two of the people said, speaking on condition of anonymity ​to discuss confidential information. The plans could change and a sale may not materialize, they cautioned.
