Residents of the Fuhou villager group in Mijialu Village, Leqiu Township, are expressing heartfelt gratitude for the recent restoration of their entrance road. One elderly villager remarked, "Previously, this section of road had a collapsed foundation and was adjacent to a steep slope, making it unsafe for walking or resting. Now the road surface has been leveled, and guardrails and benches have been installed, making it both safe and comfortable to go out. The village collective funds have truly been used to address what matters most to us."

Since the flood season began, continuous heavy rainfall triggered a landslide at the entrance to the Fuhou villager group's road, resulting in damaged retaining walls, cracked pavement, and subsidence. What was once a spot where villagers regularly gathered to rest and enjoy the shade transformed into a safety hazard, impeding safe access to and from the village and becoming a pressing concern for residents.

Adhering to the principle of doing practical work for the people, Mijialu Village upheld the philosophy that collective economic benefits should be "taken from the people and used for the people." Following the strict "Four Deliberations and Two Disclosures" procedure, the project went through proposals by the village party branch, discussions by the village committee, review by the party member assembly, and resolution by the villagers' representative meeting. The plan and results were fully disclosed, and public input was widely solicited. Ultimately, it was decided to use village collective economic revenue to fund the retaining wall repair project, channeling collective funds toward the most urgent needs of the residents.

During implementation, the village committee provided full oversight, strictly monitoring project quality and construction safety. In addition to ensuring the safety of the main village road, protective railings and leisure benches were installed according to local conditions. The previously hazardous section has now been transformed into a safe, accessible, and convenient rest stop for villagers, achieving "one hazard rectified, one community comforted."

Collective economic resources are not meant to be dormant figures in account books but should be used to resolve the urgent difficulties of the people. This road repair project deliberately avoided large-scale engineering, instead starting from small, targeted measures, prioritizing the allocation of limited collective funds toward the most pressing infrastructure safety concerns of residents. Free from vanity projects, the effort focused on practicality and convenience, responding to public expectations with tangible results.
