A collaborative research initiative, led by Professor Cao Cunwei from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University with the participation of Guangxi Helanmo Guangze Biotechnology Co., Ltd., has recently been recognized with the First Prize of the Guangxi Science and Technology Progress Award. The winning project, titled "Integration and Industrialization of Key Technologies for Precision Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Major Fungal Diseases in Guangxi (ASEAN Region)," highlights significant regional advancements in this specialized medical field.

The Guangxi Key Laboratory for Fungal Disease Prevention and Control Research was officially established at the production facility of Guangxi Helanmo Guangze Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in March 2023, marking it as the only autonomous region-level key laboratory dedicated to fungi and fungal disease research in Guangxi. The laboratory is spearheaded by Professor Cao Cunwei's team from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and operates with the company as its primary supporting entity. Its research efforts are concentrated on regional endemic fungal diseases, with a focus on foundational fungal disease studies, the relationship between fungi and skin health, disease prevention strategies, and the application of Guangxi's ethnic Zhuang and Yao medicine in fungal disease management.

This prestigious award underscores the company's long-standing commitment to the integrated development of industry, academia, and research. Beginning with commissioned analyses of essential oil extracts, the company progressively advanced to establish a Class 100,000 cleanroom facility and successfully secured its status as a supporting unit for an autonomous region-level key laboratory. In parallel, the company has strategically expanded into medicinal herb cultivation, pursuing a development pathway that integrates industry, academia, and research. This approach has enabled the creation of a comprehensive industrial chain connecting primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, forming a complete ecosystem that spans "herbal cultivation, scientific research and development, standardized production, omni-channel sales, and health management services." Through these efforts, the company has successfully transformed cutting-edge scientific theories and innovative technologies into practical, industrializable, and promotable biomedical achievements, contributing valuable practical experience to the high-quality development of Yongning District's distinctive biomedical industry.
