France Unveils €30 Billion Budget Cuts to Rein in Fiscal Deficit

France's Finance Minister Roland Lescure has announced that the government intends to save approximately €30 billion in the upcoming annual budget as part of efforts to curb the nation's fiscal deficit. Lescure described the proposed budget package as "demanding and ambitious," noting that pensioners will also be required to share the burden, as the administration strives to cap the deficit at 5.1%.

Lescure indicated that a negotiated compromise on the budget could help ease investor anxieties, which have recently driven French government bond yields to their highest levels since 2012.
