Alibaba Health Information Technology Limited (AliHealth, 00241) announced a major leadership reshuffle effective at the close of business on 11 September 2026. Yu Yong, aged 50, has been appointed Executive Director, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Nomination Committee and an authorised representative under Hong Kong Listing Rule 3.05. Concurrently, incumbent Chairman and CEO Shen Difan has resigned from those positions but will remain on the Board as an Executive Director to concentrate on Alibaba Group’s healthcare-focused artificial-intelligence initiatives and continue leading the Group’s Hydrion and digital tracking businesses.
Yu Yong joined Alibaba Group in March 2005, most recently serving as CEO and President of 1688.com (Feb 2022–Sep 2026), where he led initiatives such as “1688 Select” and the “AI-to-B Supply Chain” programme. He brings more than 20 years of experience in consumer and e-commerce sectors, alongside a decade in logistics. Yu holds a bachelor’s degree in international trade from Ningbo University (1994) and received a Professor-level Senior Economist accreditation in 2018. His initial appointment term at AliHealth is one year, renewable annually; remuneration will be set by the Board based on the Remuneration Committee’s recommendations and market benchmarks.
AliHealth acknowledged that combining the roles of Chairman and CEO in a single individual deviates from Corporate Governance Code provision C.2.1, but the Board believes the consolidated structure will deliver unified strategic direction while existing oversight mechanisms safeguard shareholder interests. The Board will keep the governance framework under review.
Following these changes, AliHealth’s Board comprises three Executive Directors (Yu Yong, Shen Difan, Sheng Mengyue), one Non-Executive Director (Huang Jiaojiao) and three Independent Non-Executive Directors (Huang Yi Fei (Vanessa), Shao Rong, Wu May Yihong).
