Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Edge Higher As One-Month Hibor Rises for Second Straight Day

Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates mostly rose on September 14, with the one-month Hibor, closely tied to mortgage rates, climbing 0.923 basis points to 2.88887%, marking its second consecutive daily increase.

The three-month Hibor, a key indicator of bank funding costs, advanced 1.339 basis points to 3.07476%. Meanwhile, the overnight rate gained 1.190 basis points to 2.28750%.

In contrast, the one-week Hibor slipped 2.869 basis points to 2.42750%, while the two-week rate edged up 1.399 basis points to 2.52750%. The two-month tenure added 0.910 basis points to 2.97964%.

For longer maturities, the six-month Hibor rose 2.893 basis points to 3.27893%, and the one-year rate climbed 7.774 basis points to 3.66589%.
