The General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government has recently issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Marine Economy in Guangzhou."

The plan emphasizes fostering integrated development between marine sectors and low-altitude space technologies, promoting the large-scale application of drones in scenarios such as marine monitoring, maritime logistics, marine tourism, and emergency rescue operations.

It also aims to expand the industry chain by focusing on offshore commercial space launch, recovery, testing, and operational maintenance. By leveraging the deployment of low-orbit satellite constellations, the city will advance professional marine technical services, including maritime communications, precise vessel navigation and positioning, and deep-sea environmental monitoring.

Additionally, the plan calls for concentrated research and development of new materials, such as heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings, magnesium alloy surface anti-corrosion and conductive integrated coatings, marine biodegradable materials, and materials adapted to extreme environments. Efforts will also be made to establish a supply system for deep-sea exploration and polar expedition materials, promoting the large-scale application of these materials in offshore wind power, cross-sea bridges, large vessels, and deep-sea aquaculture equipment.
