The Southern 2x Long NVIDIA ETF (07788) surged more than 2% during Thursday's trading session, with shares last up 1.82% at HK$162.45, recording turnover of approximately HK$640,700. The move comes amid fresh market reports that NVIDIA, Google, and Emerald AI have jointly established the AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA), an initiative aimed at enabling AI data centers to dynamically adjust their power consumption based on real-time grid conditions while exploring faster interconnection pathways.
According to the alliance's announcements, enhancing data center electricity flexibility through mechanisms such as shifting computational workloads, tapping into stored energy reserves, or activating on-site power generation could unlock up to 100GW of additional capacity from the existing power grid infrastructure. Furthermore, the alliance estimates that these measures could generate approximately US$733 million in electricity system cost savings for each gigawatt of newly constructed AI data center capacity.
The two companies have reportedly completed demonstration testing of AI power flexibility solutions across five commercial data centers worldwide over the past year. The DSX Flex system is slated for commercial-scale deployment in late 2026 at NVIDIA's AI Factory research center in Virginia, which is positioned to become one of the world's first power-flexible AI plants running on Vera Rubin infrastructure, marking a significant step toward more sustainable and cost-efficient AI operations.
