At the 2026 OPPO Developer Conference, the tech giant confirmed that OPPO, OnePlus, and realme will all receive simultaneous system upgrades in their first batch. Alongside this announcement, ColorOS 17 was officially introduced, with the OPPO Find X10 series and OnePlus 16 slated to be the first devices featuring the new software out of the box.
During the event, OPPO's President of Software Engineering, Tang Kai, emphasized a user-centric philosophy, stating that in the rapidly evolving AI landscape, practical AI must integrate into real-life scenarios, offering proactive and tailored assistance at the right moments. He reiterated OPPO's commitment to developing a smoother and more intuitive operating system that understands its users deeply. The company also reported that ColorOS now boasts over 770 million active users globally.
OPPO positions ColorOS 17 as a pivotal advancement towards personalized, proactive intelligence in the AIOS era. This vision is supported by breakthroughs in three core AI technology pillars: new computing, new perception, and new ecosystem. In computing, the on-device large model, based on the debut "Linear Attention architecture," enhances privacy control, offers quicker responses, and natively supports a 128K context window, all while reducing memory usage by 48% and energy consumption by 55% compared to the previous generation. For perception, the upgraded Persona X memory engine now evolves across data, environment, and behavior sensing, allowing the system to record, forget, and reflect over time to better understand user habits. In the ecosystem domain, the Agent Matrix framework enhances the assistant's brain with improved context handling and intent recognition.
Practical integrations have also expanded significantly. Users can now access 200 Alipay services with a single voice command, receive personalized travel plans from Tencent Maps, or send WeChat messages and make audio/video calls with just their voice. ColorOS 17 introduces a comprehensive sensory design language called fluid design, which redefines the system experience from visual effects to dynamic animations and haptic feedback. The new assistant proactively identifies relevant user information, transforming calendar events, friend invitations, or upcoming movies and trips into personalized to-do lists. Furthermore, the upgraded Xiaobu Suggestions has partnered with over 40 leading third-party services across more than 700 detailed scenarios, achieving a 95% prediction accuracy rate through proprietary swarm sensing technology. It also offers fully integrated navigation with Baidu Maps and Amap.
The AI One-Tap Quick Memo feature, already used over one billion times for pickup codes, now extends to package retrieval codes, contacts, and concert ticket alarms. The Xiaobu Next plan has been initiated to tackle complex tasks in a single session. ColorOS 17 also enhances productivity across the board with an AI photo editor powered by the proprietary Da Vinci visual model, capable of editing images and maintaining 2K quality and HDR without smoothing details. A new AI-assisted note-taking tool serves as a personal knowledge hub with easy export options. The experience extends to other devices as well, with seamless navigation handoff from car to phone and real-time translation support in earbuds.
Finally, ColorOS 17 prioritizes user safety and accessibility. A dedicated care mode simplifies the interface for elderly users and automatically enables protective measures to block malicious software and sensitive permissions. Full-chain AI anti-fraud features use personalized behavior modeling to provide advanced warnings, while an intelligent screen reader ensures all on-screen content can be read and announced aloud for users with visual impairments.
