Local authorities are seizing favorable weather windows and strengthening harvest support measures, solidifying the foundation of food security through a productive season.

In September, seed corn in Zhangye City has fully entered its harvest period, with various types of machinery playing a leading role in the operations. Meanwhile, synchronized loss-reduction assessments for machine-harvested seed corn are being conducted, using precise monitoring to safeguard food supply.

Currently, 217,600 mu of plastic-mulched corn in Jingchuan County, Pingliang, has reached maturity. This year, the county has actively promoted the double-ridge and furrow mulching technique for corn cultivation, introduced improved seed varieties, and achieved full coverage of superior seeds. To date, the corn harvest progress across the county has exceeded 40 percent.

The fragrance of ripe corn fills the air as every grain is carefully gathered. In Yongchang County, Jinchang, 328,000 mu of seed corn are entering the harvest season one after another. At present, the county's seed corn planting area has reached 76,000 mu, nurturing 47 seed production enterprises, equipped with 12 seed processing lines and 8 drying lines, with an annual processing capacity exceeding 200,000 tons.
