October Fed Rate Hike Odds Rise to 55.4% in Market Pricing

Market expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate increase in October have climbed to 55.4%, according to the latest CME Group's FedWatch tool data released on September 18.

The tool indicates that the probability of the Fed holding interest rates steady through October stands at 44.6%, while the likelihood of a cumulative 25-basis-point hike is now pegged at 55.4%.

Looking further ahead to December, the data shows a 12.6% chance of rates remaining unchanged, a 47.7% probability of a cumulative 25-basis-point increase, and a 39.8% likelihood of a cumulative 50-basis-point hike.
