THE DEAL: A contemporary Aspen mansion rented by several celebrities, including the singer Rihanna, has sold for $63.5 million, according to people familiar with the deal. The sum is one of the priciest real-estate deals recently recorded in the affluent Colorado ski destination.
THE SELLERS: Todd Lemkin, former chief investment officer at the Dallas-based investment firm Canyon Partners, and his wife, Kasey Lemkin. The Lemkins purchased the property for $60 million in 2022 and had relisted it for sale a couple of times since. It was listed for as much as $79 million in 2025, according to Zillow.
The Lemkins didn't respond to a request for comment. Listing agent Mandy Welgos of Aspen Snowmass Sotheby's International Realty declined to comment on the transaction. She also represented the buyer alongside colleague Craig Morris.
THE BUYER: The identity of the buyer couldn't be determined.
THE SPECS: Built in 2011, the property sits at the base of Aspen mountain and spans about 17,000 square feet with seven bedrooms and an indoor pool, according to the listing. The house has two elevators, a 1,500-bottle wine cellar, four bars and a bowling alley.
THE MARKET: The Aspen market has slowed from its recent peaks after a winter with little snowfall. Home sales priced over $10 million in Aspen and Snowmass Village fell by 35% in August compared with the same month last year, according to The Estin Report, a luxury real-estate data report.
There have been fewer trophy home sales compared with the past few years, and buyers have been pushing back on pricing. In July, billionaire Bill Koch's 52-acre ranch-which was once asking $125 million-sold at auction for $33.515 million.
