Musk Threatens Legal Action Over New Documentary

Elon Musk's lawyers have put the makers and distributors of a new four-hour documentary about the billionaire on formal legal notice, accusing the film of defaming him, AFP reported Thursday.

A Sept. 3 letter from attorney Alex Spiro to a producer at Alex Gibney's Jigsaw Productions accused the Oscar-winning filmmaker of building the documentary around a predetermined conclusion and said Gibney refused to fact-check the film with Musk or people close to him, AFP said.

The documentary, which premiered Tuesday at the Venice Film Festival, examines Musk's career and personal life.

The legal letter specifically challenges a sequence alleging Musk knew early on election night 2024 that Donald Trump had won because his Starlink satellites had allegedly been used to influence the result, AFP said.
