GE Healthcare Technologies (GEHC) is in discussions for a potential $1 billion deal to buy radiopharmaceutical developer Sofie Biosciences, the Financial Times reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Private equity-backed Sofie specializes in radioactive chemicals used in cancer detection, according to the report.

A deal between the companies could be announced in the coming days, the unnamed sources told the publication.

GE Healthcare declined to comment. Sofie didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
