The Citic Pacific Special Steel (SHE:000708) board approved a proposal to change the company's name to Citic Special Steel to better align with its development strategy and enhance brand recognition.
The proposal requires approvals by shareholders and the market supervision and administration department, according to a weekend filing with the Shenzhen bourse.
Shares of the steel producer were up 1% in recent trade.
