Market Chatter: SK Hynix Workers Approve Revised Wage Deal With Higher Cash Bonuses

Unionized workers at SK Hynix (KRX: 000660) approved a revised wage agreement on Wednesday, three weeks after rejecting an initial offer, Yonhap News reported.

The revised deal, which secured a 57.08% approval rate, increases the cash portion of the chipmaker's performance-based incentive, or profit-sharing, to 50% from 40%, while the portion paid in company shares will decline to 50% from 60%, the report said.

The initial tentative agreement reached on Aug. 25 included a 6.3% wage raise and a new profit-sharing structure, under which 40% of the incentive would have been paid in cash and 60% in company sharesm the report said.

Shares of SK Hynix added nearly 2% in recent trade.
