Energy stocks were rising pre-bell Wednesday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.6% and the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) 1.5% higher.
SK Hynix (SKHY) is exploring a deal with Intel (INTC) to manufacture its memory chips in the US for the first time, Reuters reported, citing three unnamed people familiar with the discussions. However, SK Hynix said no deals have been finalized over a potential partnership with Intel to produce memory chips in the US. SK Hynix and Intel stocks were both up more than 3% premarket.
