Nokia shares jumped after the Finnish company said it would partner with Microsoft to expand its data offering to telecommunications providers.

Shares were 6.3% higher at 9.39 euros in midday European trade, taking their year-to-date rise to nearly 70%.

Nokia said Thursday that the collaboration would combine Nokia Data Suite with Microsoft Fabric to support agentic artificial intelligence operations. Telecommunication providers will be able to access reliable data in minutes rather than weeks while simplifying data integration, it said. The offering will also allow AI to carry out analysis and some operations to improve coverage quality.

The company has been expanding its portfolio to supply key data-center infrastructure for the AI rollout, while continuing to serve its traditional telecom equipment market.
