Market Chatter: Applied Materials Plans $10 Billion India Investments

Applied Materials (AMAT) will invest $5 billion in India over the next 10 years, news outlets reported Thursday.

The company will establish a 140-acre research campus in India and introduce new technologies, Investing.com reported, citing comments by Prabu Raja, president of Applied Materials' Semiconductor Products Group.

Applied Materials also plans to increase its India-based supply chain capacity tenfold by 2035 and bring additional global suppliers into the country, the report said.

Applied Materials did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
